We offer one to one or small group tutoring in core subjects National Curriculum Maths and English , Music (Guitar and keyboard) and our own SMSC programme: The Abiathar Programme (TAP)

 

Maths and English are fundamental subjects which every child and young person needs to excel in in order to succeed.

Maths. Understanding numbers and the number system. Using and applying the four laws. Understanding shape space and measures and how Maths works. My tutoring will troubleshoot problems, plug gaps in learning and enable students to make sense of Maths in order for them to succeed.

 

English. Foundation principles letter formation, handwriting skills. I enable you to develop and improve spelling, punctuation, grammar, creative writing and comprehension skills. Sats preparation I have and will successfully support students with SATs preparation. 

 

The Abiathar Programme is designed to address the needs of excluded pupils and those at risk of exclusion. Peter has a unique rapport with all pupils and is able to help them to discover the roots of their issues, identify their most effective way to learn.  The programme is packaged in 7 phases addressing the core needs of the student.

 

Keyboard/Guitar tuition 

Music Piano/Keyboard I teach piano/keyboard at Grade 1 level Focusing on music theory, notation, scales, chords and aural skills, sight reading and composition skills. I also teach the ability to play by ear. 

 

Guitar. I teach acoustic guitar, focusing on rhythm, strumming techniques, chords and chord progression. I also teach you to play by ear and enable you to develop and improve composition skills.
